Well done to Dublin City Council.

The Bring Centre on Gulistan Terrace in Dublin 6 will be closed on Sundays & Bank Holidays from May 1st.

Great way to help incentivise people to recycle.

Are the people working there not entitled to days off as well? I understand that Sundays and Bank Holidays would probably see a lot of business as people are partying and have lots of empties, but maybe their staff would like to party too? Perhaps, they haven't the funds to open on days that would require them to pay their staff more. Just a thought.

I don't buy the staff argument. They have enough employees surely, that they can arrange a roster.

Given that most people work during the week, being open at weekends makes sense.

If they wanted to give employees time off, then they could close the Bring Centre on Monday/Tuesday (or some other day). This would inconvenience the public far less than having it closed on a Sunday/BH Monday

Fair point. But when did the City Council ever make anyone's life easier? :)
