    Hi,

Few of us heading to Cork City this weekend on a lads weekend? Anyone any advise on decent places to head out in Cork?

Looking for places during the day to watch sport (football, horse racing etc), and grab a bit of food during the day...

In the evening would be looking for somewhere we are likely to get a big crowd in to (15 of us going at present and number could still swell to 20+), something along the lines of Copper Face Jacks in Dublin would do us lads just fine, wouldnt be big on any kind of music just somewhere we can have a laugh!!!

Is there a concentrated area of bars that we should head for so we can bar hop without too much hassle??? We are staying on MacCurtain St if that helps..

    Cheers for any advise.

Hi, there are loads of similar threads already in this forum so if you do a search you would get a lot of info.

Wasington st area would probably work best for you. Reardans would be the biggest bar, and many have compared it to coppers. :p There is a club upstairs called havanas. There is also Soho if you want to watch any matches they do savage chicken wings and food in general. And lots of other bars in and around Washington st area. The bailey, classic, long island, costigans, the grafton. Its only a few minutes walk from Mc Curtain st.

One word of advise, bouncers are strict in Cork, so make sure everyone wears shoes, and id say go up to the doors in smaller groups. Have fun and if you want to go to a lap dancing club there are some down the road from mc curtain st, one is called the great escape!

    Enjoy!!
