I have posted a few questions recently about the new Panasonic plasmas P4XGT30 and P4XG30B. I am also interested in getting a decent AV receiver and some surround sound speakers. I should be in Belfast on Friday, do you guys have any of the new Panasonic's on display for demos?

    HI Devilabit.

At the moment we have only had the Panasonic 50C3 into stock priced at £449.95 (In Store Only Purchase)
    http://www.richersounds.com/product/plasma-tv/panasonic/viera-txp50c3b/pana-txp50c3b

We have yet to have one on display due to our small shop. We currently have the 50VT20 on display which is hogging up space for the NEW screens :)

I might be able to unpeal the 50C3 a little from its box to let you see it running as you will be here in Belfast.
It would also give you the chance to check out our range of Amps and Speaker packs.
We will even make you a cup of Tea or Coffee and pay your Parking for the duration of your visit to our Store :D

Would there be an amp and speakers that you have had your eye on?

Cheers for that, although the VT20 would be more my sort of thing!

Any speakers would have to be better than my old blue sky media desk monitors which still sound awesome to me but are only 2.1, see http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/jan05/articles/bluesky.htm

As for the AV, something around the lines of the ONKYO TXSR608, although i would prefer 2 hdmi outputs.

    Thanks.

    Hi Devilabit.

The last one of our VT20's is our display unit and we are clearing it for £1399.95
    http://www.richersounds.com/product/3d-tv/panasonic/viera-txp50vt20b/pana-txp50vt20b

The 608 has been replaced by the 609 which now puts the 608 in very very short supply. we currently do not have any of these in stock. Earlest I could have one would be 13.05.11 and this is depending on our main warehouse still having some by then :(
    http://www.richersounds.com/product/av-receivers/onkyo/txsr608/onkyo-txsr608-blk

To get two HDMI outs you are starting around the £800 mark for the Onkyo 709. (8In - 2Out) I could do one for £699.95 (Special One Off Price)
    http://www.richersounds.com/product/av-receivers/onkyo/txnr709/onky-txnr709-blk

Do you have a budget in mind for the setup? :)

    Thanks Kenny.

Surely the VT20 display unit should be cheaper than a new VT20?

Im very keen on the Onkyo 709 at that price. Would you be able to hold that price until I can get a demo tomorrow?

Overall im looking at £2k to £2.5k budget for TV, AV and speakers.

    Hey Devilabit.

The price on the 50VT20 is the clearence price as listed on the website. They retailed at £2199.95 brand new.

    lastfew.gif

This is what is listed beside the screen on the website.

We do not have the 709 in stock in Belfast so I could not demo it for you. I could demo the 609 but the 709 is going to sound better due to the superior tec used in it.

With the sort of budget you have you could have a look at the Monitor Audio range I'm sure I can work something in around your budget to ensure you get the best value for money.
    https://www.richersounds.ie/asp/search_results.asp?c=0&bc=Search+Results&bccs=1&txt_keywords=monitor+audio&list_categories=

As well as Monitor Audio you could look at the Cambridge Minx range of speakers:

Hope this helps a little further ;)

    Hi Kenny,

I popped in on Friday and got some great service from Ryan although i only got as far as buying some speaker cable!

Im still mulling over the 609 vs 709, its hard to justify the extra cost just for the 2 hdmi outputs. Is there any way i can get 3 zones out of these receivers, like on making some of the 7.1 rears active in a kitchen for an extra zone?

For the speakers Ryan recommended the Monitor Audio floorststanders BX5 with some radius 45HD for the rears and either radius 225HD or 180HD for the center. What kind of price could i get all that for?

TV wise Ryan got me thinking about LG which i hadnt really considered. Im interested in one of the new LW550T or LW650T 3d cinema's, are these available yet?

    Cheers.

    Hi there.

The new 709 uses some fancy power technology that the 609 doesn't use and i've checked with the Onkyo rep and the sound is very different.

The 709 is only designed to as a 2 zone amp so the Zone 2 has volume control and can be listening to a different source.

You could output a signal from a VCR output and plug this into another amplifier which would then give you volume control of the output in the third zone.

I'll PM you a price on the speakers.

On the TV front, our UK guys have had a very small quantity of these through so far and we are currently chasing LG on when we will be getting more.

    http://www.richersounds.com/product/3d-tv/lg/42lw550t/lg-42lw550

It's priced at £999.95 and our guys over there reckon it's an amazing TV.

I hope this helps but keep an eye out for the PM also.

    Thanks Dave.

Could you PM me 2 quotes for the whole package based on the LG-47LW550T (I can get this for £1100 and then there is the £200 cashback for Sky customers), speakers with 225HD center and both the 609 and 709 AVs, that should give me a fair fright!

Btw im in no huge rush for the TV, i can wait a few weeks.

Had a few PM's with Dave last week but I didnt get a response to my last PM to Dave (just asked how much delivery be to Dublin). Also rang and left a message for Dave cause was busy but I didnt get a call back last Friday, all I wanted to do was know how to pay! To be honest I was expecting better service since that is what RS is known for.

Im still interested in the gear so get in touch when you can.

    Cheers.

    Hi Devil.

I had replied to your last PM but I didn't get a PM on Friday or a message on Friday to call you so apologies if the guys here have not passed on the message.

If you PM me your contact number, I'll happily call you to discuss the options.
