Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Evening all,Was talkin to a suckler farmer who claims that if you want to breed for the export market you need to use the very heavy musceled ai bulls, that the easy calving blue bulls wont have it in them, but does that not mean sections?? is anyone here selling into this market and if so what bulls are being used and to what sucess, cheers

Shippers want continentals, best continentals are hard calvers, our neighbour is a jobber/shipper. All he buys is charlois/bb/limousin crosses as that's were demand is for leaner meat

    Nope.

If you have good cows and your sire selection is good there is no reason why you can't produce export quality weanlings without resorting to sectioning your cows.
I will qualify this statement though by adding that the occassional section can always occur. Even using easy calving bulls!

i was told the same. i put ovo bb ai bull to a red lim cow and had no calving problems. ovo had 28% calving difficulty. the cow is scanned in calf again. careful feeding the cow 6 weeks before calving.
