Yet again we have the intensification of rain as it get close to the coast. The 11:16am radar showed a small clump of rain sw of Galway. 15 minutes later it had intensified a lot.

I did not see any reports of storms from Clare but I met a woman yesterday who told me that on Wednesday night around 10pm there was unreal lightning and thunder for around 15 minutes. She said she only ever witnessed lightning like what she saw on Wednesday in Spain. She lives in Kilkee

I see there was some more thunder and lightening on NW Coast earlier

I saw it there on RTE player. It was mentioned by Gerry Murphy.
Since he said twisters, i presume they must have touched down. That would have been nice to see alright!

I had visitors at the time so was not taking notice of the presenter, but the word 'twisters' was used for both Mayo and Kilkenny.

A funnel cloud was beginning to form again over the Burren/Galway Bay area this morning but it dissapated(sp) before it grew to anything decent,i'd say it was at most 25% maybe.

Seems to be a good few strikes today in the lough derg region.
Some of the showers look very heavy on the radar.
