Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Have you connected the set top box to a live ASTRA satellite feed when the updating screen is displayed?

If so it should locate and update with the latest software for the set top box, reboot and then come up as normal (instead of going to the forced update screen) allowing you to use the box.

The box will timeout after a period of about 10 minutes if it fails to recover the software, reboot and start the whole process again..it shouldn't sit on the screen for 30 minutes without a reboot or two in between.

tuned to skys satellite (astra ) tried to reboot and holding down the left and right keys also tried to do a total reboot (details received from sky tech help) but once the initial screen loaded it went straight back to the blue screen and sky updating message sky seem to think the box is goosed!

The two basic options you have are update the software and wipe the hard drive.

    - Update the software
If you press and hold the backup button on the top of the box and then apply power (plug the power cable in), keep the button held for about 10 seconds the box should enter recovery mode and download a new software image over the sat feed.

After download the box should then reboot and boot up as normal (to channel 998 usually).

    - Wipe the hard drive (which you've already described doing)
As above but holding down the right and left keys instead and holding them for a longer period (about 30 seconds). The spin lights on the front should flash, then press select button on the front panel.

Are you saying that after wiping the hard drive that it's displaying a message saying it is still updating?

The only other suggestion I have is to open the box up and disconnect the hard drive and see if the box boots in diskless mode. If it does then power down and re-try connecting the hard drive again....if the presence of the hard drive is causing the problem then maybe installing a new hard drive will fix the issue.

    Cheers Dino

tried both these but the messages reappears once the initial boot up is performed.

seller has agreed to refund so no harm done.

This is what I was looking for thanks for that.
