Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I have a PC which is broken and I wish to dump it. I am concerned that there is some personal information i.e. passwords/card numbers etc on it and I can't delete this info as I am unable to get it going. Any suggestions as to how I can safely and securely dispose of it ?

    Moved from N&F.

When you say it's dead, what part is dead? Otherwise just take the hard disk out.

Take the hard disk out, you can then dump the rest no prob, just smash the hd up or if its really sensitive there are companys which with "shred" the drive.

Drill a hole through the hard drive inside the main casing. Recycle the rest.

    Or http://www.dban.org/

A boot disk Floppy and/or cd which you can boot and will safely wipe the disk - not just format it - but actually over write data patterns on the disk to obliterate any trace. If the pc does not boot then stick the disk in another pc.

(or just trash it with a hammer and drill a holes in it - or both)
