Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

This episode was dreadfully boring. Found myself looking at the time to see when it was gonna end. The Doctor was useless from start to finish. He told the captain that the son was sick so he had to stay on the ship. Well you have a fooking time machine Doctor.... use it to bring him to the future where they will cure him. The rest of the pirates could have left at any time. And Rory's death scene was painfully obvious. I was shaking my head in disgust as he came back to life.

 Its such a waste of an episode. We only have 4 more now till the break.

Right... p*ss poor episode. The writer of this episode isn't writing another one this series... delighted! Moving on to next week I see Michael Sheen is going to be in it (he of Frost/Nixon and United fame). Looking forward to that!

Hmm this is come of my theories

Well everyone is asking about the guy in the powder room but what about the guy at the start?? The doctor said 5 is not enough to man the ship but where the 5th guy go??
Maybe the Silence aren't all dead?
Also what's up with the tardis?? My guess its sick since it was taken by the siren since she scanned it sick?
As with the Silence ship, I'm guessing it crashed and cudnt get fixed like the lodger ep but after that the silence knew a time lord could power the ship that's y they created the little girl maybe using the original doctors dna it was set in 1969 maybe they got the original dna with there erase mind. Nothing show they have time travel to get itmma

I wasn't impressed. Sure, there were some funny lines, but that's about where it stops. Some of the plot holes really did jar - the aforementioned, but also, how come the Siren's song draws them in at all?; why does she take them to a medical ward and strap them in for cuts on their hands?; why does she need to vapourise them in order to take them away?; why, when she appears at the end, does her song not hypnotise them in the same way as it did earlier?; why throw the treasure in the ocean and not just throw some bloody dirt on it?!

The ending was dreadfully sentimental, and the resolution was a bit too close for comfort to The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances. I would say probably the worst episode yet produced under Moffat. Shame, after such a strong opening, but I expect it'll pick up again.

That was a so-so episode. Average. But average doesn't mean bad. It's just the norm and I like the norm of Doctor Who. I would just please ask Rory to stop dying all the time.

Roll on the next episode! I love the Ood!

i have to admit that this is exactly how i felt afterwards and one of the reasons why i have not posted on this thread till now. I am becoming a tired of the monster of the week thing and look forward to the day when we have some proper human villans up to no good again - (ok, I know its been a long time since that, but its not the worst idea)

thankfully The Doctors Wife has upped the game somewhat.
