80% mortgages only

Is it true banks are only giving out 80% loans and you have to save up the difference? Everybody is telling me so, but on the Ulster bank website, and AIB (ithink) they say up to 90% for first time buyers.

From what ive heard banks will only give 80% when buying an apartment dont know about house!!

I got a 92% Mortgage last week from AIB. They are still giving them out.

BOI told me they'd give me one for up to 92% too, though that was a couple of months ago.
