My laptop keeps trying to connect to this network instead of the main UCD ones, every time I disconnect it reconnects automatically, takes about 5 goes before it seems to cop on and connect to the WaveLAN.

I saw Eduroam mentioned in another thread, are we able to use it? It says that it can't validate my access when it connects automatically.

Anyone have any ideas on how I can a) stop it connecting automatically or b) how to get it to connect properly?

need to do that to register! better than other WaveLan, as you actually will have continuous access!

Ok yes you can use it, it is a far better network than WAVELAN for a start.

Lets get some things in context first.
    1. what course are you doing?
    2. what building is this happening in?
    3. are you using OSX or Windows?

Answer these q's and we will go from there.

But so you know, eduroam is great... that is if you can get it so your credentials are accepted. Be warned tho, you are effectively "logging in" so everything you do is logged.

If they really really wanted to, they could over wavelan too, but they don't, so don't worry about it.

I reckon it's more that they have someone to lay the finger of blame on if some big bad record/movie company detects someone torrenting music or movies on the network (or other wrongdoings). I doubt anyone cares what you get up to on the internet otherwise, no offence :pac:
