Clearing hard drives for sale

Morning all, Just a question on the best way to clear hard drives in prep for sale of a pc system. How safe is it just to do a fresh install of OS which i believe will erase all data. Wanna be sure i leave nothing on the drives that can be resurected. Also if i have Windows 7 on the pc, can i simply reload it or do i need…

Morning all,

Also if i have Windows 7 on the pc, can i simply reload it or do i need to get MS to Disassociate the key from my PC b4 installing again., Seem to remember reading people have had issues doing that

CCleaner has a wipe drive aswell as wipe free space only option in its array of tools. pretty sure you can do couple of passes up to and maybe beyond DoD standards...

Free to use too!
