Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

I am a student in the university of limerick and a lecturer gave us a Microsoft Project document which i can't open because i don't have Project on my laptop. I am wondering if there is anyway of opening it or if one of you could open it for me and just send me on screen grabs from it. There are two files in the folder which I have attached they consist of a Gantt Charts and I want to have a look at it before an exam I have tomorrow.

    Thanks

MPP is the file extension for the Microsoft Project Plan. MPP files are created in Microsoft Project, which is a suite of project-management software. It helps individuals and companies keep track of tasks and schedules. It's also used for report and graph creation. Microsoft Project is required to view an MPP file extension, however if you do not have the software installed on your computer, you can still view the file depending on its size.

    Difficulty: Moderately Easy
    Instructions

    1
Go to www.projectviewercentral.com in your Internet browser. This website allows you to view Microsoft Project files without having to install the software on your computer.

    2
Look for the link on the bar at the top of the page that says "Free Demo" and click it. Go to the field where it says to upload the MPP file from your computer, and click "Browse."

    3
Look for the MPP file you have saved. Note that you must have saved your MPP file on the computer you are using in order to view it. Once you have found the file, click "Open" then click the "View" button. Your project should open automatically. Because this is only a demo, there is a limit of a 4,000 KB size file.

    4
Return to the main page by clicking the back button on your browser. You may purchase the Project Viewer. This may be a cheaper option for you instead of purchasing the Microsoft Project software again if you just need to view the files every once in a while.

    Tips & Warnings

Place MPP files in a central location, so they are easy to access for either viewing them with the Project Viewer or the actual Microsoft Project software.

Do not attempt to install the same license of Microsoft Project on more than one PC. It is illegal.

Or try any of the applications on this page marked "Open Source" (Free)

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_project_management_software

This might be the best of the lot of them (just at a glance).
