Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Its a while since I posted here but we had a review in school in few weeks ago so Im being let go on June 24th-the day of the holidays!

Tbh, I really dont know where this leaves me-what am I entitled to(social welfare), am I entitled to get what Ive paid into my pension back...

Ive also found out Im pregnant so Im sure this is going to affect my maternity benefit as I wont have been working when the baby is due..

Was just about to start my montessori course but Ive had to put it on hold..

Ive just been turned upside down...:(

What a horrible situation! Unfortunately, it's becoming more common as SNAs are being let go all over the country and I don't think there is any redeployment for them.

I am a teacher and we cannot get our pension contributions back so I'd imagine the same is true for SNAs, but you should contact your union (IMPACT isn't it?) to confirm this. What I'd recommend is blitzing your local area with CVs - primary schools, secondary schools, further ed centres and special schools and if your qualification is a Childcare one - créches. There is always a chance of a maternity leave coming up or a person being out sick and someone being needed on short notice.

How long is your Montessori course? Is it full time? Could you do part of it now while you are unemployed or an online one?
