Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Why do presenters and newsreaders "gabble" on Irish radio?

Just listening to Sean O'Rourke crash his way through the comming attractions summary before the ad break - two or three stumbles of simple words. This happens most days and to most presenters. The problem almost every time is rushing, there is no need as every error actually costs more time than one might save.

Its instructive to listen to World at One on BBC radio 4 and then contrast with News at One.

Because they are poor at their jobs. Because they have producers telling them in their ear pieces to hurry up. american and british are way better at their jobs, they put ours to shame.

Des Cahill has to be the worst stuttering presenter RTÉ has to offer

The Nob-Nation peice on him was brilliant

Sean O'Rourke stumbling his way through the coming attractions again today. Slow down man.

Chris Donoghue on the Breakfast Show on Newstalk talks so fast it actually puts me on edge - can't listen to him!

Sean O'Rourke, Des Cahill, Chris O'Donoghue - none of them are in the same league for this affliction as Fergal Keane on Drivetime. He hasnt the excuse of a producer talking into his ear either as he is the interviewee generally

He's much worse than that! He forgets where he's at, starts a sentence gets part way through, then stops, and starts another sentence. He is the worst "commentator" or "journalist" or whatever he calls himself by a clear mile in Ireland. Utterly useless.

Belongs behind a desk in a back office!

Marty Whelan is another persistent offender. I've given up on Lyric FM in the morning since he took over.
