    Just a random-sidenote:

Biggest issue I had vs FRAPS in the past was the fact that it could happily record most games but it couldn't do much beyond that. Anytime I wanted to record browsers, flash games and the likes, I'd have to hunt down additional software (Latest I was using was CamStudio which I find pretty horrendous).

Since Firefox 4.0.1 though, FRAPS can now record browser windows ;)

Just throwing that out there for those of you who may have some remote want or need or recording browser footage.

Just an FYI, since FRAPS version 2.9 you've been able to record your full Windows Aero desktop in Vista and 7, which could have been useful for your needs if you had been willing to edit the resulting files to crop the video.
