hi .i just stumbled on to this forum.and its great .ive recently taken up metal detecting as a hobby,and am looking for permissions from any detector friendly farmers.maybe in lieu of a cupla hours work.wicklow area

I should point out, in case you may not know, that the use of a metal detector is at best a grey area, legally speaking.

It's illegal to use one in or close to an area of archaeological significance without a licence. So you may find yourself in hot water if you find anything of real value. There's a lengthy thread on the subject here:
