the specs never suggested itd blow anyone out of the water to be fair

it was always going to look essentially the same as the ps3/360

Nope I dont see how that controller will essentially be the same, those other consoles will still out perform them

I dont take any notice of those videos until they are actually seen on the controller

The Wii has always been seen as a kiddy-thing due to graphics(unfounded imo), and now that they make a console that can handle the same graphics as the competitors it's **** again ? :D

    jesus christ

    its a new console

how are people not getting this?

To be fair, they did refer to it as a controller an awful lot, as opposed to a controller. It's understandable how people could get confused.

Christ iv never seen a presentation so bad at presenting information to people.

why does it matter what they look like on the controller?

what they look like on the big screen out of the console is what matters

Nintendo don't give much about graphics, compared to Sony and Microsoft.

But you can't deny that this is innovative, though.

to me its a ipad with buttons

Not a single game I'd be arsed playing yet bar maybe the new Mario game on 3DS. Disappointing.

ya but if they look good on the controller, we'll get a good idea how they'll look on the big tv

Of course your right about your second point

Well at least the conference was short!

Not sure what to make of it all tbh. All very peculiar.

Actually they kept saying 'controller' and only show the actual controller, so it's normal for people to see this is a... controller.

Have you seen the actual console ?
    I haven't.

why would they? its just a box that probably hasnt had its design finalised yet

nothing interesting about a plastic box

In some of the shots there was a small box to the bottom right of the TV that looked quite like a wii.

no, because they havent shown the console. all they were showing was the controller, since that's the big thing about the new console

When the guy walked in to change the channel, there was a Wii by the tv.

Meh it's Nintendo, they'll market it and my mother and all her friends will run out and buy one.

    Profit.

not necessarily, it all depends on what kind of scaling tech is being used

theres a massive difference between a full hd display on a telly and a 6.7" handheld display

No way was that a normal Wii :)

Unless Nintendo will come out with 'Hey, guess what, your Wii can actually play those games in 1080p after all, all you need is the new controller' :o

Many people are pointing out that the PSV and the PS3 can do the exact same thing, oh noes.

You can see the Console here http://www.computerandvideogames.com/305938/news/wii-u-first-hardware-images/
    Looks a bit like a white 360.

yup, exactly. It's kinda weird they didn't show the console.

Also, the third party games is a good boost, but most of them are all games you can get already on existing console, and look much better on said consoles also.

    Dunno what to think tbh.

Probably the worst presentation so far. So void on coherent information.

Nintendos conference was still better than microsofts and sonys conferences combined imo

Despite not seeing it in action :D

All they saw was Ruin yesterday, which only said you can play it on the PSV, stop playing, plug it in on the tv and then play on your PS3.

Didn't Nintendo do that already with the N64 and Pokémon Stadium, sort of ?
