Hi there I was just wondering if anyone could help. We've been having major problems with the internet. We used to be on eircom and the internet went completely down so we got sent a new modem. This wasnt the problem and the net continued to be complete crap so thinking it might be something to do with the line we moved to upc. It works perfect on the ethernet but once on the wireless it is patchy and always dropping like it was on eircom. Any one know what the problem might be? I was thinking it may be something interfering with the wireless signal as at this point its definitely not a hardware issue. Thanks for any help :D

If you think its interference from other WiFi networks then get a copy of Netstumbler to see exactly how many are near by their signal strenght and what channels they are using so you can try a different one.

btw the wireless on that router isn't known to be the best, a lot of people don't use it, turn it off and find a wirelss AP plugged into a LAN port a better option.

This thread is sort of similar

thanks a mil for all your help. Got it sorted it turns out there was some interference from a baby monitor from next door. It took a bit of fiddling but we found a channel that works muuuch better. Cheers for the reply :)
