5 to 10 minutes from cherbourg

    http://www.anse-du-brick.com/gb/

stayed in this at the end of our holiday last year and it was gorgeous, the view looking on to the beach was amazing, the place was spotless. the only down side of the site is if your dependant on contact at home the valley its in means its near impossible to get phone coverage, so you will have to join the line of people searching for coverage at the beach:D

Near the fishing village of Le Guilvinec, Brittany

Stayed here two years running. Backs right onto the beach. Enough to amuse two young kids. We all loved it.

    Ample room for tourers.

Thanks of that T650 may try this one for a few nights in summer.

    Would posters mind starting posts with an approximate location (I think it would be helpful) eg;

    Near Quimper Brittany

Good campsite close to Arzon,Port Navalo/Port du Croesty. Google maps 47.553099,-2.883053. Town twinned with Lahinch. Great market on Tuesdays.
Good supermarket with cheap diesel. Small beach near campsite as well as cycle trails to other beaches in area. Plenty of pitches for MH all with AC.

Domaine le Bohat near Sarzeau. Very good campsite and also ACSI for non peak season.
Sarzeau twinned with Clifden if memory serves me.

Just outside St Malo 4 star campsite Le Petit Bois and another called La Ville Huichet, very well signposted approx 25 per night including hookup and indoor and outdoor pools, playgrounds etc. Great place to do cycles from.

Something we fell in love with when in Brittany is Kerne Cider. It comes in several forms but we fell in love with the demi-sec version. Dry and appley :). You can taste the various types before buying.

    In Carantec.

Stayed here for last night of holiday. 20 min drive from Roscoff ferry port.

    Nice site

The kids loved the lazy river and the three water slides. Pint expensive at 4.60. No pichers of wine on offer but a glass of wine 3 euro. If staying longer I would definitely have been based at motorhome anyway sipping under the awning :)

    Hi

Stayed in the car park/motorhome park at Le Mont St Michael on our recent trip to France.

€12 euro for the day and you could stay overnight.

Plenty of other motorhomes there aswell and the place is unbelieveable at night time.

    Cordinates - 48.630143, -1.507040

One thing I'd say is that it gets busy at peak times but so does everywhere.

We actually stayed in a campsite called "Le Panoramic" in Binic but noticed this Aire De Service on our way out of the town.

We used it to empty our waste water tank, there were a few dozen MHs there.

    Lovely part of the country.

This is a pricey campsite but is lovely all the same.

Stayed here on our first two nights and was a great spot.

    Great for kids.

    Hi

This was a great campsite with great access to the Normandy beaches.

Its in a beautiful town called St Aubin Sur Mer, right beside Juno Beach from DDay.

Its well equipped with a brand new campers toilets/washrooms that are 5 Star.

Its a real kiddies paradise with lots for them todo.

Your only about 30-40 minutes drive from Omaha Beach and the American Memorial graveyard.

We stayed here for one night to break the journey from Cherbourg on our way south. Easy to get to off the ring road. Lovely clean site.

    on Omaha beach.
Brilliant for kids (bouncy castles, trampolines, playgrounds, petting area with dwarf goats, equestrian centre next door...), swimming pool (covered and open), cross the road outside the gates and you're on gorgeous beach.
Bar, pizzas, shop on site, village a bit further up the road for restaurants. Bikes available for hire.
Cars can be rented for the day on site, can't remember, think it was something like 36 euros per day.
Not far from Sainte Mere l'Eglise, where the D-Day parachutists landed (one on top of the Church's spire). Lots of war museums nearby.

Municipal in Bayeux is a very central location for all of Normandy WW2 sites for those interested and relatively inexpensive compared to the many private sites.

Also, for those who are looking for a cheap stop over, noticed a lot of campers parking on the Super U car park in Sainte Mere Eglise this year. There is a petrol station on the same spot with a "borne de service" for campers, I saw a man emptying toilet cassette there, I'm guessing grey water grill probably there too, water fill (more than likely for a few coins of course), and there is a kiosk with washing machines and dryers right beside it !
This is within easy walking distance of restaurants in town (10 minutes max).
If it weren't for the kids we'd gladly stay there ourselves.

For those of you who travel with a dog/cat, I would highly recommend the vet right next to it (google vets in Ste Mere Eglise), very cheap, and well used to the pre-ferry check and worm. It cost me less than 20 euros for worming, passport signed, and 2 calming tablets for my dog this year.

    Guéméné-Penfao

    Camping de l'Hermitage

Small family run site. Friendly staff but English not easily spoken :)

Small pool and water slide but our 7 year old had a ball. Free wifi at bar area. The bar area is small also. The shower block needs a little bit of TLC but is kept clean. Nice quiet and relaxing site. We only stayed one night as we headed south.
