Hi me and a friend are looking to move to Europe for the summer. We are looking for bar work or shop work, anything like that. We are looking for cheap rent, even working in a hostel and staying in it if possible. We were thinking about Amsterdam but it seems to be very expensive to live there. We were also looking at Portugal.

What I am asking is does anyone have anywhere they know in Europe that is cheap on rent and plenty of jobs going, we are open to anything really. I have tried numerous websites but find it difficult to get a clear understanding and looking for help. Also couch-surfing is not what we are looking for.

Thanks in advance for any help given!

Amsterdam can be expensive depending on where you live, however there are cheaper places to rent such as around Transvaal, or even Haarlem. It is possible to get a studio apartment for 500 a month (although its probably not possible to register) and a room from 300 / month.

just wondering, did you end up spending the summer in Portugal after all?
3 of us are planning on going there this summer but we don't know if we should set ourselves up with jobs first!
