Tattoo on sole of foot?

Hey guys, been thinking about this for a while, i've come up with an idea for a design of a tattoo, and i'd like to get it on the sole of my foot... I just like the idea of getting it there, even though i imagine it'll be tricky and will most likely wear off over a few months/years....
I just wanted to hear the thoughts of anyone who has seen a tattoo in this location, or has experience with tattoos... I have none. Yet. When i was younger I nearly got one but i chickened out. My idea now is a dot-to-dot design of a simple image, so it'll consist of about 50 numbered dots in black ink.
Also can anyone recommend an artist that would be willing to do this kind of work? I read on the internet there is some reluctance due to the sensitive location...
Any ideas?

You may be able to get the dots in there, although they will almost certainly fall out long term. But the numbers are a write off, I should think

My old flate mate had a tattoo on the underneath of his toes, it was a little smiley face smoking a spliff on his big toe and the smoke across the other four toes. It didn't last too long and by the time I saw it(two years later) the smoke had worn away and the smiley face didn't look so hot. I think it was something to do with the thickness of the skin and the constant friction on it.

He still thought it was hilarious though. :rolleyes:

The ink just won't hold in the sole of your foot because of the constant wear and tear and the nature of the location. It won't last long and it's not worth it. Also I'd imagine healing would be a bitch. What about getting it on the top of your foot?

Yeah i was afraid thats what you all would say... I really wanted it on the underside... I suppose i could go for it on the topside but i just think the concave shape of the underside is so much better.

I was wondering if i used a pummice stone and really scrubbed my skin red raw on the underside would i be able to get the ink deep enough for a new protective corneum to grow over it and that way protect the ink? Bit of a long shot i suppose.

Here's an example of the dots and numbers anyway. This is the same concept of what i want except the image mine draws will be different.
