    Is it legal in Ireland to buy a knife off the internet... I would not be bringing it around with me just to collect...

    I did bring a long WW2 bayonet home on a flight from Munich a few years ago, and had no problems getting it in. I just had it in my suitcase, but don't know about the postal service.
