I had pretty much decided I wasn't coming back to watch them ruin Frozen but now with Elizabeth Mitchell joining the cast I know I'll be back. I always love her in everything she's in!

Are they going to introduce the Frozen cast? That be interesting.

yep, that's what the main story arc is supposed to be for the next season. They brought in Elsa in the last seconds of season 3. And Liz Mitchell is supposed to be somehow related to Elsa and Anna but they're keeping quiet about how. I'm putting my money on her being their bad mother, since this show seems to be all about bad parents

Elsa wasn't locked in Rumplestilskin's vault for however many years in the film either. They do what they want.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,381 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

Maybe Elsa's room was really Rumple's vault? :)

I'm sure Elsa and Anna will turn out to be related to Henry as well. Otherwise they'll be pushed to the sidelines later on like everyone else who doesn't fall under that category

Really you think? came across online the likeness of some characters apparently Elsa and Anna's parents are parents to Ariel the Mermaid or tarzan can't remember which that they were washed off onto an island and had another child.

In frozen both parents died at sea was it not?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,216 ✭✭✭✭RobbingBandit

The ship wreck Ariel is playing in in The Little Mermaid is supposed to be the ship they died on too, all connected in disney.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,349 ✭✭✭✭starlit

Ya apparently some of the characters are connected. Example in tangled the woman that stole her is actually one of the evil characters like the wicked witch who gave snow white the apple/the stepmother/queen she always wanting to stay young.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,349 ✭✭✭✭starlit

I wonder how they will introduce those characters into once upon a time from Frozen and tangled. Think the brave - Meridith or the witch at the secret house that gave her a spell to make her mother become a bear. Can't remember who she was meant to be linked to think its a child actually or the witch that casts the spell on sleeping beauty.

And we know from Rapunzel's and Flynn's appearance in Frozen that they're all in the same universe.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,349 ✭✭✭✭starlit

Rapunzel is similar to Elsa, Meridith in Brave features are similar. True.

I really like how animated films have all these links. The old lady in Brave is supposedly Boo from Monster's Inc. In her house there was a drawing of Sully in the background.

In Frozen their parents are travelling to the wedding in Tangled when their ship sinks, which Ariel plays in in The Little Mermaid. Ariel is also a cousin or something to Hercules. And in Frozen at Elsa's coronation you can see Rapunzel and what'shisname from behind. Can't think of any more :)

I'm curious to see how they'll tie in Frozen to the Enchanted Forest/Storybrooke, and does it mean there'll be singing?! :P

The Pixar and Disney films have seperate theories. Pixar's is far more linked than Disney. http://www.pixartheory.com/ is a great read.

Hey I only just discovered Once Upon A Time a few weeks ago and I absolutely fell in love with it. Im a massive Disney fan, maybe that's why, but I love their take on all the fairy tales. I cannot believe I had missed out on it. Im all caught up now, and I cannot wait for season4.
any idea what channel it will be on over here?

  • Moderators, Arts Moderators Posts: 23,934 Mod ✭✭✭✭TICKLE_ME_ELMO

RTÉ show it on the weekend sometime but it'll probably be a while before they show S4.

If you want, there was also a spinoff called Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. I've seen the first few and find it enjoyable. Just have to catch up at some point. Was cancelled but I think it supposedly had a proper ending.

Plus at least one of that show's characters is coming to the main show

thanks, I saw it mentioned but I didnt realise it was a spin-off.
I love OUAT, its been a while since a show has grabbed my attention like this.
I think Robert Carlyse is a brilliant actor. To be fair he is almost playing about 6 different characters!
Next season will be interesting, who will be the new villain? What's going to happen with Regina/Robin/Marian. Hook and Emma to, things could get complicated! Oh exciting!

RTE still have to show Season 3. For some bizzare reason they are repeating Season 2 rather than showing Season 3 at the moment (double episodes on RTE2 every Saturday afternoon)

Would this series be suitable for a nine year old girl ?

She saw Melificent,, has also seen all the Jurassic Parks & most recently Oz: great & powerful & loved them all, so scenes of mild terror are ok (think she loves them really)

  • Moderators, Arts Moderators Posts: 23,934 Mod ✭✭✭✭TICKLE_ME_ELMO

Yeah, I'd say it'd be fine for an 8 year old. There's nothing more scary than what's in those films you named and the plots and logic are very basic so it's not like anything would go over her head.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,082 ✭✭✭OU812

Excellent. That's a new series for us so. Are they 40 minutes each ?

    Yeah, the usual 42ish minutes.

Also one of the main characters is a 10 year old boy, so may help your daughter relate

Just finished my second run through. So looking forward to the new season. Dying to see what's going to happen with Regina and Robin.

All the shows back in September. So much to watch!

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,906 ✭✭✭SarahBM

Oh I have a question too, how did aurora end up in storybrooke and how come she was dressed like a princess in the final episode? Am I right in assuming she and Philip were brought there with the curse, as monkeys and then just turned back when Zelina was defeated?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,381 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

Yep. And this is their first time in Storybrooke. But pretty good chance they'll be ignored since the show hasn't a great history with supporting characters (Ruby for example) and they'll be focussing a lot on the Frozen characters.

  • Moderators, Arts Moderators Posts: 23,934 Mod ✭✭✭✭TICKLE_ME_ELMO

I follow Sarah Bolger on twitter and she usually mentions when she's heading up to Vancouver. She hasn't since what would have been the finale. I wouldn't imagine she'll feature at all.

Probably won't get much of Tinkerbell either.

Knave of Hearts/Will Scarlet will be one of the regulars next season, he was good in the Wonderland spinoff.

    I must watch that!

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,906 ✭✭✭SarahBM

Watched the first ep of Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. I wasn't overly taken with it like I was with Once Upon a Time, but since the Knave is gonna be a regular in season 4 I'll watch it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,381 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

Like I said, I need to get back to it. Think I got to episode 5 before getting sidetracked and they built up. But I remember getting to like The Knave and Alice.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,906 ✭✭✭SarahBM

Watched a couple more eps of OUAT in Wonderland. Robin hood features. I was wondering why Will Scarlett wasn't in OUAT. Now I know. Saw the twist about Anastasia coming a mile off though.

Kristin Bauer Van Straten is back as Maleficent for Season 4

Guessing with less swearing than we're used to from her.

But hearing her saying "F***ing Snow White" would be funny

Watching that promo makes me think it'd be entertaining if they actually wore their Enchanted Forest clothes in Storybrooke. :)

It would be brilliant. Maybe HBO can buy the rights to the show :)

Big time for Regina, looks much better as The Evil Queen.

    $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Coincidently Maleficent is their 4B arc.

Expect a Cinderella arc for September 2015.

Just finished Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. Really enjoyed it. It's pretty much a standalone series with a couple appearances from characters from the main show.

Wasn't sure of the characters at the beginning, but they all grew on me. Alice and the Knave were great together. Liked Michael Socha in his role. He's the spit of his Misfit sister.

Jafar was a proper villain who you're meant to dislike and do.

The Red Queen probably had the hardest job of convincing me. But once she was given a chance to develop her character, we got to see she was good in the role.

Apart from some dodgy effects, I thought the whole series worked well and am glad they didn't drag it out.

Speaking of dodgy effects and a show being dragged out, the main show is back next week in the States.

Back tonight. I wasn't really planning on watching this season but since in about a month, Boardwalk Empire and The Strain will be finished and I'll only be watching Walking Dead from Sunday night.
