Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Magic eye small problem..

Ok so I have the magic eye set up and everyting works as it should,i.e I have enabled the RF in the services menu and saved it. I also have tested the unit by plugging it straight into the back of my Sky digibox and the little LED works fine.

My problem is actual connection into the RF2 output of the sky box.

To explain a little more, it seems to me that I need a female RF Plug to connect my outgoing cable to the RF2 input but when I went to the electrical wholesalers I was given a female to female adaptor which when I plug into the RF2 output and then connect to the magic eye, stops the signal getting any further along.

Can anyone tell me EXACTLY what the name of the connector I need?

A coaxial coupler would do the job. Here's a picture and possible place to buy them. Note not all have the black rubber around them. http://www.tvtrade.ie/coaxial-coupler-1s.html

Anyone? Just to simplify, its a female input on the sky box so its whatever I have to put on the end of the co ax to plug into the sky box that i am needing.

Hi gojony, thanx so much for your reply. Unfortunately that is the same kind of coupler i was given in the wholesalers, for some reason it prevents the voltage from getting beyond the sky box RF2 output. What i need is something to go directly onto the outgoing co ax.

What I am using is an F connector (screw on would do) connected to a coaxial female adapter! i.e. http://www.tvtrade.ie/f-connectors-1s.html and http://www.tvtrade.ie/coaxial-female-to-f-connector-adaptor-1s.html

That should do the job, hopefully!

Sorry to hijack your thread but I'm also having trouble with my magic eye.

I got sky installed yesterday. The box was installed in my bedroom and the magic was fed down to the tv in the sitting room.

The problem is that I now have to plug out the existing aerial and swap with magic eye any time I want to use the magic eye in the sitting room. I asked the sky installer for a splitter. He put it in but it didn't work as he said there is power coming from the analog aerial which is interfering with the magic eye and preventing it from working. The reason there is power coming through the aerial is that my existing chorus box is used from the same television to send the signal to all other bedrooms in the house. I have sports on this box.

It's a very messy set up we got going.

Is there anyway around the magic eye problem. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.
