Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Where is the best place to store all family pics? Currently have a Flickr account and not that keen on it. Anyone know how to transfer flickr pics back to own pc please?

Just as an aside, I wouldn't rely on flickr or pix.ie or photobucket or any other online service as a sole backup for your pictures. Flickr has, in the past, almost completely wiped peoples photostreams by accident ... and apologised afterward for the inconvenience of course. Recent Amazon outages have shown that even in a big distributed system your data might not be as safe as you think it is, or that you've been told it is.

JD, Picasa has a small amount of free storage and then a yearly charge depending on how much you want after that. It is quite reasonable IMO. But I also agree with what Daire said and I would always have mine backed up on my own external harddrive and/or discs.S.

Storage is a big issue. I would burn multiple copies to high quality DVD's as well as having them on an external Hard Disk.

Surely you would still have your original files and so would just need to close the Flickr account. Personally I only upload web quality images to any site.

I use picasa for my private family albums.
The security model works for me and its got very nice features such as face recognition , which is useful for quickly finding all pics of Aunt Julia or whoever in a hurry.
I pay an annual charge of 4 euros for 20gb extra storage.
The client software also allows you to have a local copy of your images on your pc and to sync these easily.

no they are not, thats why they are popular. FB is still ok, but they keep trying to slide in changes, wouldn't put anything up in it tbh
