Last week in the local paper it was reported that the county council were millions in the red!this week they are talking about spending €500k on changing O Connell st again. Where is the accountability here?how come no one seems to get sacked over this to lack respect of taxpayers(our) money? If it is opened again there will be only a few winners(1)the northern contractor who will get the contract(2) the click of "business" people who seem to have control over our town !

What about the 6m or so at risk in the Lisadell court case, the right to walk down someones drive is hardly worth a bet that big.

Useless vanity court case, €6 million.

Closing our main street to traffic, to open it, to close it, to open it, €600K.

Payments to a consultant to attend Sligo Borough Council meetings and write a report confirming that his employer and his colleagues had indeed being bullied by Councillors who oppose his proposals and so sing "for he who pays the piper calls the tune", per meeting, €800.

Executive Contempt for the democratic process as amazing as the acquiescence of the local press on the issues, Priceless.

    Accountability, Zero.
