I remember going picking winkles when I was a kid down the back strand in Tramore and in Woodstown. Dunno if they would be considered the best places in the county though.

If I knew for sure the OP wasn't picking winkles for profit I might say but as there are beeing overpicked in some area's I won't.

My Gran and Aunt used to pick them in ardmore and redbarn near Ardmore, they used to make a handy profit on them!
