I'm in the same boat myself right now but i think i have picked out the bike i want from Canyon. Out of the bikes you have links for above i'd say the Boardman would be the best to go for really.

What model of canyon are you going for and where do they sell them in Dublin do you know?

I have been freed from the grip of halfords now but budget is still €700 so any suggestions?

Have a look at Cube. Cycelsuperstore give 10% discount straight off the bat if buy with BTWS.

Cycleways off Capel Street also do great deals and any of the bikes can be test ridden if you drop into them. Prob same with cyclesuperstore but I didnt have enough patience to hang around waiting for service.

Value for money Cube prob will be the best.

Canyon bikes can only be bought direct from their site.

Given your budget you would probably still be best going with the Boardman (and I'm no Halfords fan!)

yeah boardman is the way to go if your budget is sub 1000 if you ask me, great spec on the bikes, the problem people have with halfords is the build quality when the mechanic is assembling your bike, a fela i know got a boardman pro mtb a couple of weeks back and its a lovely piece of kit

You can only buy online. But i have been told that for value for money they are one of, if not the best. I have decided to go for this one myself https://www.canyon.com/_en/mountainbikes/bike.html?b=2051 . I have friends that have bought road bikes from Canyon and they are ment to be great for the money. The only thing you miss out on with them is buying from a local bike shop. From my own point of view i have bought my road bikes from local bike shops in the past so don't feel guilty;) . I think you can still do the bike to work thing even though these bikes come from Germany not sure how though.

    Hi all,

I went for a Cube Attention comp 2011 in the end. I went to CS in Tallaght and tested it out. Very happy with spec and price. Picking it up next week.
