Expressing Shih tzu anal glands

Anyone else give this a go themselves. I have just done it and boy does it stink when it squirts out. Easy to do and save you a few bob not getting a vet to do it. I just looked at a few how to videos on youtube first.:D

I do my basset myself. It's relatively easy. The glands are situated at the 4p.m. and 8p.m. position in relation to the anus. Just gently massage them upwards and out comes the fluid. Yes, it sure does stink - but so does paying the vet every couple of weeks;)
