damage to variegated grass

the donkey got the better of my ornamental grass and has clipped them down to about 3 inches off the ground. I think it may be Variegated Moor Grass (The stems are not very thick and it doesn't seem to form thick clumps but it seems to spread a lot) Can I expect a regrowth as it is quite early in the season?
