I saw a preview of 'The Runway' a couple of months back. It's OK, but more of a TV movie than a cinema experience. It uses the real story of the Mallow crash very, very loosely!

Exactly - it's a crash by a Colombian in the film, in west Cork or Kerry. So, only a very loose interpretation of the actual event.

Yes. That loose. I kept telling myself during the film that it couldn't be based on the Mallow landing. It simply couldn't. But apparently it was!

There was a few days in the 1996 Olympics when Michelle Smith was winning everything and we thought Francie Barrett was heading for a medal, and Sonia was nailed on for a few Golds.

It was very controversial at the time.

They never break the LLS format any more, even for Tribute Nights.
