It looks like Cerastium tomentosum (Snow in summer).

Thank you! Yes of course that is what it is. I have been niggling about that since I saw the post this morning, I knew I recognised it but could not think what it was. S-in-S is rather snobbily regarded as a weed, but I think it looks nice when it is looked after.
