Do they check your bank account for available funds??

    Hi can anybody tell me do emigration or customs actually ever check
    your bank account for the 900 dollars your supposed to have
    in your account to support yourself? I dont want to ask my parents for
    yet more money before I even get there!

    Hi there,

    I'm stil waiting to go so don't know for sure if they actually check but had an appointment with the girl in USIT and she told me to make sure I have it.

    Might be an idea to try scrape it together for your own peace of mind and for any unexpected expenses ya might need it for !

    They don't check at the border, but if you are refering to getting a visa (as opposed to coming over to the USA on the visa waiver program), oftentimes they will ask for proof of funds at the visa interview at the US embassy (ie a bank statement)

    Hi I have my J1 visa already it was just the question of them stopping me
    at the airport
