The game's overwhelming target audience is young males from 16-30, many of whom have little to no sexual experience. This kind of stuff appeals to them. Ultimately unless the game's market audience itself becomes more diverse, it won't change.

I agree however, it all comes across as pretty pathetic and very unattractive.

Ever go onto twitch...some of the most popular channels are girls...but it's not any kind of girl...they nearly always are relatively attractive...but have some cleavage on show. I don't know what all the guys going onto them channels are expecting.

Anyways, heading to finals this Sunday, hopefully it's good...but I can see it being a 3-0 stomp.
Apparently the Imagine Dragons from the Warriors theme will be playing at it...also more free stuff (championship riven skin)

Well that's entirely subjective.. Some would say that it is a fantasy based game and therefore people dont necessarily want to see characters that look like Joe or Jane Bloggs.

theres hardly "muscles exploding from everywhere" and not nearly enough where its intimidating and only some are moderately sexual. from what I can see they are all in suits of armour and that sorta thing alt-costumes, yeah probably a good few in there but its a mere smattering. nothing to write home about.

now lets do the girls:
Ashe - massive tits, cleavage for no reason
Ahri - massive tits, cleavage for no reason
caitlin - tiny skirt, massive tits, only hints of cleavage (what about her in game chat about handcuffs? 'kinky')
Cassiopia - massive tits from a half-snake creature. mostly naked on top

Janna - massive tits, mostly naked
Jinx - mostly naked - oh normal sized breasts therefore making everything else okay because obviously riot acknowledged it............

so yeah, those intimating over sexualised males really make it all okay and balanced don't they.

you say that having sensibilities and awareness in taste is subjective, yeah, you are right, taste is subjective. and if you decide that this sorta of completely over the top super over sexualised characters is fine because 'oh the men have muscles bursting out everywhere' then great, thats you. But the reality is that doesn't really wash well with society does it? This is why the image of a drooling wreck with his hand down his pants watching a girl with a low cut top play their favourite video game is really quite creepy. just because its popular it doesnt mean its good, healthy, or better for people in any way.
It isn't just a problem with LoL either and if this is 'what sells' than I, personally, am embarrassed to be associated with that audience, or at least large portions of it. If you ever wonder why people look down on gaming culture, this is one of the main reasons, and you know what, they are right.

anyhow, its not just this game. its many games. LoL just happens to be the super popular one with cleavage bearing casters. (personally, i cant believe thats a thing. The game is popular because its free to play, easy to play and fun to play. Not because 70%-80% of the female's have massive tits.

And what's this "Doesn't really wash well with society does it?" Unless your talking about an Islamic or Amish community then yeah you're spot on, but sex is in almost all forms of western media, more so than game's my friend. So don't turn on your TV, Radio or PC, or even leave the house lest you be subjected to the atrocities of human nature

Just lol. Nice rant but I'm not sure what your point is. We could compare notes about champs and their skins male and female but the simple fact is that this game is a fantasy based MOBA which plays on traditional fantasy stereotypes and ainme for its design. There is nothing wrong with fantastical depictions of males or females in an overt sexual way. If you have a problem with that then that's your problem. Your assertion that certain people are creepy or a culture is pathetic quite frankly reveals a lot about your own personality. It's very easy to judge a group or a community whilst sitting on your moral high horse but some of us who have been around for a bit can see right through this kind of moralising and thought policing.

At the end of the day it's a buyers market and if you don't like the community or the design then please feel free to play some whitewashed game where everyone looks like an average Joe and therefore no one feels any pressure to conform to a certain body image or gets the wrong idea about women. This a thread to discuss the game not a thread to discuss feminist theory on sexualisation or female objectification in the popular media. your problem with all that is that LoL is the whitewashed game, this kind of lowbrow objectivization is the standard due to people having well, low standards.
you consider this a "play on traditional fantasy stereotypes" and that right there is the problem. Its not, its really not. you just have that as your level of what to expect, which is fine, if you think that women should be portrayed like that its your business. but don't get angry at people having higher standards and expecting better.
