Is there any shop in Galway that can assess which runners suit your feet/gait? Have started running and my knee are really killing me. Think the runners I bought might not be the best suit for me.

Mods;not sure if this should be Galway Forum or Running?

    Thanks

As above, ring in advance and make an appointment as it will take around 45 minutes. It's time well spent.

elverys on headford road do it too i think.
You should probably see a physio too as it is probably an underlying problem with your feet and you might want to get that sorted too

theres a specialist shoe shop up the road from the augustinian aswell.they do insoles that make most shoes/runners adequate for training/running.

also if the pain persists you should defo see a physio, sounds like you could have fallen or high arches, or even tight t bands (the muscle at the side of your thigh)

read a book called born to run. it is about an ancient tribe in mexico that can run 100 miles.

they were thin sandals. also shows that in third world countries they show that they do not get knee pains or any running injury we get in the 1st world. this is because they do not wear runners.

Run on a football pitch in your barefeet. you will run for ages without any pains in your knees. if you still get the pain then you have already injured yourself. by running bare foot you are strenghting your feet which get weak because we use runners all the time

get the book and once you read it then it will all make sense.

    Foot Solutions..highly recommended..from a satisfied customer
Highly trained staff that gives good advice and puts all the options out in front without the pressure of purchasing.

    Bit pricey though.
