House is a mid 1940s house and the heating system is about 10-11 years old at this stage.

A plumber is comming out tomorrow afternoon, hopefully.:)

I know he`s a plumber and all, but make sure you tell him the filling loop is only off the attic tank.

You will need some inhibiter for the system as well. Anti corrosion stuff that goes in. Probably a litre or so.

Plumber just called this evening and within 10 minutes the system was back up and running.

The heatng system is back up and flying now.

Fully balanced and the hot water tank has been balanced out too.

The rads have not been as hot at they are now,in a long time.

Turns out the problem was the 2 small screw valves either side of the water pump on top of the boiler.

They were screwed closed, when they should have been open.

    DOH.lol

Thats good, sorted anyway. It would be interesting to know how it worked before with the pump isolating valves closed though.

Good news its fixed:) I cant believe the pump valves were closed or partially closed:rolleyes: It must of been heating by gravity or the valves were slightly open?

The plasterers took all the rads off the walls, and yes, they "may" have turned off a few valves,I dont know??

But after looking at the quality of the plasterwork in th the whole house, its absolutely flawless and it was a blessing in one way, having no heat for a week,as the plaster has dried out naturally and perfectly too.

I think I can forgive them for this little "oopsie" with regards the boiler.:D

It could have also been the last gas company who serviced the boiler 18 months ago though,as they dont have the best reputation in the world, after googling about them.;)

The rads have never been hotter, than what they are now.

Fair play to the plumber that sorted me out and got the system back up and running,he even showed me what all the pipes do and what valves NOT TO TOUCH in future.;)

If they were fully closed it couldnt heat by gravity either i would of thought.

Probably plasterers alright. Always amazing how fellas do that, then finish their own job and walk away, job done for them. Not a major thing though. Hope the plasteing was good.

Its a 12 year old Ideal boiler (old style with no reset button) and I think the plumber said it was being fed off the tank up in the attc.

Anyway,he had it going in a matter of minutes and then went around the house balancing everything out.
