    Roue d'Or des Pyrenees cyclosportive.

Winner of the 1956 Tour de France, Roger Walkowiak is 84 years old. As you can see he did not stop for refreshments as he headed up the climb of Col du Borderers, the third climb of the day.
When you see the storm of doping publicity about to swamp this sport, Roger is truly inspirational, he only won 3 races in his career as a pro, the tour being one of them. He was a work horse who one day got in the lucky break and gained 18 minutes on the stage and immortality to boot!!!

That's some line-up in the event. Merckx, Hinault, Indurain, Delgado, Thevenet and Walkowiak. It's not often that you'd get the chance to ride with 6 Tour winners.

Hey, look at that Fred wearing a yellow jersey in a sportif!

    Oh, wait....

I like his style, particularly his single small bidon. Maybe Merckx was working as his domestique.
