smtp protocol issue, can't send emails

    Hi,
    We're transferring a site to Wordpress, and a basic email form keeps delivering errors when submitting user info.

    See here.

    We've been on to support but with no luck. My developer believes it's an issue with the Blacknight smtp protocol settings, but support says it's an issue at our end. He's installed this basic contact form many times so he would know if he was doing something wrong.

    We're using this form as a test for a plugin that requires the user to be emailed - both are being erroneous but we are using this contact form as a way to test it.

    Can someone advise me how to resolve this please?

    Do you have a ticket ID?

    Without knowing what exactly you are using and how you are using it I can't really advise

    So I would need to know:
    - what you are using to send the mail ie. what script / plugin
    - what you have set for SMTP
    - which address you are trying to send it to

    I've been chatting on Live Chat so don't have a Ticket ID

    To answer your questions
    - Contact Form 7
    - SMTP, the default
    - Address, the default

    Yes, here it is.

    We don't know where to see what value the SMTP has, nor where to change it.

    Sorry I mean any address that we try to send to, the result is the same.

    I have created a ticket (FBW-622809) but I can't login to check its status. The login form asks for my email address which I enter, and the same password I use to login to my Admin panel but it won't accept it. :confused:

    Please read the notification email again

    Unless someone has gone off rewording the emails on us it shouldn't say that ..

    When I visit that link, I am just shown a login box with email address and password fields.

    If you don't have a login just use the password recovery option

    In any case you will be emailed with any replies to your ticket ..
