THESE CHARMING MEN PLAY TRIBUTE TO THE SMITHS & MORRISSEY
Mc Hugh’s Music Venue Drogheda, Co. Louth
    04th June 2011
    Doors 8:00pm Show 10.00pm

These Charming Men have become regular favourites at the Mc Hugh’s Music Venue Drogheda. They return for a gig on the 04th of June 2011. The band has been playing the music of The Smiths and Morrissey for over ten years now. With uncanny similarities and superb live performances the Dublin four piece has gone from strength to strength, playing sell-out gigs throughout Ireland and headlining The Smiths/Morrissey Convention in LA four years running.

In 2004, the band headlined the Fuji Rock Festival in Japan, playing to their biggest crowd to date, some 35,000 people.

Lee Brady (vocals) and Gavin Murphy (guitar) met through their obsessive collection of any Smiths music they could get their hands on. Both frequented a bootlegger shop in Dublin’s Liffey Street where they finally met in 1989. Gavin’s brother came on board to play bass and Paul Byrne completed the group on drums.

When asked what Morrissey thinks of the band, Brady reports; “He's quiet impressed really. We gave him a CD of T.C.M. with four live 'Smiths' songs and one 'Morrissey' song recorded in Dublin and he was visibly thrilled.”

Morrissey: "I'm very impressed and flattered by what they do"

    Andy Rourke: "Spooky, spot on"

Don’t miss These Charming Men play the Mc Hugh’s Music Venue Drogheda on Saturday 04th June 2011. Doors open at 8:00pm. Tickets cost €12 and are available from the venue on 041 983 5995 or on the door. The concert will end with a 80’s DJ music night.
