Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

About 10 years ago I completed a cert in agriculture in an agricultural college but have worked away from home farm since. I am now 30 and my father is planningto transfer farm to me.What are my options in trying to complete green cert? was my year spent in ag. college a waste of time? Would be very grateful for any advice, thank you.

I was looking into this myself recently and asked the uncle who's a reps planner about it. He said they could be running courses soon over a 7-8 week period that will cover the green cert. But as I said it's only a "possibility". I know some of my mates that went to ag-college post secondary for a year and they recieved a green cert so maybe you're entitled also. Worth looking into.

Sure they are already running online courses to cover the green cert. The first ones were a 100 hour course and an 80 hour course with 2 days for each in an Agriculture college. This changed about 2 years ago. Now they are over 200 hours with up to 20 days in the Agriculture college.
You have to have already quilified up to fetac level 6 to be allowed to do this reduced hours course.

Can't see them ever being reduced to 7 weeks - it would put "the boys" out of a job!!

"the boys" in the public colleges might be grateful for the new setup, but the private colleges are not as they cant get the extra staff to help run these extra courses. The public colleges can get staff redeployed from local offices etc. It is teagasc madness that has us at the situation we are at - putting pressure on "older" students to complete courses thru any 1 of the back door avenues....
