    Hey lads,

I've been toying with the idea of getting a car this last few months and came across GoGet car sharing.
    http://www.goget.com.au/

Works out slightly cheaper than a rental car in that you don't have to put petrol into them and you can take a car for as little as an hour rather than having to pay a day rate.

I did want buy a motor as I have a parking spot in the city, though theres not a decent amount of motors for under 5k that aren't in ribbons.

Does anyone use GoGet?. Is it any use?

I used them quite a bit in Sydney when I lived there. They're great.

    Cheers ballooba :)

Do you remember what was it costing you roughly every month though?. It looks like it works out pretty decent if you do feckall kms 5-10 times a month to get to the beaches and what not.

I just went on the Go Frequent plan so I wasn't worrying how much I was using it. If you share an account it will bring down the cost. I think I might have been spending between $100 and $200 a month, which considering how much you spend on petrol, insurance, rego etc. is a pittance.

I don't think that's a runner, although the thought had crossed my mind. Those spots are designated for specific cars, so they're not for general car share use. If you park there and another user needs to drop back the car designated for that spot then they're stuck. I have had to call parking enforcement abut people parking in the car share spots a few times. It's a real pain when you need to return the car. Hopefully word of the fines will travel.
