So it's time I got me oul' 00 Fiesta serviced.

I only ever used the main dealer when it was in warranty, and thereafter an excellent guy I know in Wexford. I always brought my previous car to Amiens St Motors, and I found the guy there to be excellent.

Now living in Portmarnock, and I'm looking for a trustworthy independent in the general area, who won't BS me, to service it and generally nurse it for as long as it lasts.

    Any thoughts?

    Would Drumcondra be too far?

Stick with the one you're happy with, you can take the train back to Portmarnock or else hang around town for the day!

I used to live in Drumcondra, actually, off Whitworth. And I work two weeks a month near Smithfield. I only mentioned the Portmarnock area because I'm heading into the two weeks working from home part of my life, and figured it'd be handier to get it sorted locally then...

Sadly, Amiens St Motors is gone. A pity: they were actually pretty close to being Fiesta specialists.

Unless you're suggesting I commute to Gorey! :pac:

    Hi lads,

I asked for this to be moved here. Hope that's all right. Any suggestions gratefully received...

This will be vague so apologies!
There is a mechanic that services my car in Portmarnock.
He has his garage in St Brigid's- just opposite Jus De vine. Always loads of cars in front of his workshop.
I have the card at home & can get you more info if you wanted.
Have always found the service good.

Thanks! Any info would be great...

Would that explain the cars always parked on the patch of green there?

(You're not talking about the place that used to be where the funeral home now is?)

Did you try scullys or are they too out of the way?

I haven't done anything about it yet, but I will in the next couple of weeks. Figured I'd keep trawling for personal recommendations in the meantime...

Atlas Tyres opened a garage near Baldoyle industrial estate last year.

I know its not independent but I got my car services with them and was happy enough.

They spotted some additional work which had to be done (but I already knew about) and rang me with a quote before they did anything.
