Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Renewing Learner Permit

    Hi folks.

I currently hold a category A learners permit, since before the new IBT rules came in, but it expires in a couple of weeks time. I had done the theory test long before I got a bike or even started driving one, which is why the license is lapsing. It is not my intention to drive around on Learner permits all the time.

My question is, can I juts go to the tax office and renew the learners permit? Or do I have to apply for the bike driving test first to renew it? And when I do renew it, will I be subject to the new rules that came in force regarding lessons?

    Thanks again guys.

It depends on how many learner permits you've had. If you've only had 1 permit, you can renew it by filling the form and paying the money!

If you've had 2 or more permits, you will have to show that you've applied for your test, or have done and failed the test before the permit will be renewed.

You won't have to do the IBT, because that only applies to new (i.e. first) learner permits issued since December 6th 2010. It doesn't apply to renewals.

    Thanks very much gipi.

The permit I currently hold is only my first.
