Waterford United Terminate Hendros Contract

Just for those unaware of the latest development at Waterford United;

Following a meeting with the board of Waterford United and manager Stephen Henderson, where the current situation within the club was discussed, the board has decided to terminate the contract of Stephen Henderson with immediate effect.


Waterford United would like to thank Stephen and Martin Cambridge for their efforts over the past two and a half years, and wish them both well in the future.


Head coaches Paul O’Brien and Billy Hearne, with assistance from Alan Barry, will take immediate charge of the team in a caretaker capacity, with the FAI Cup match next weekend a priority.


The Chairman and board of Waterford United are fully committed to the club and will continue to strive to provide top class football for Waterford.

Waterford United are not doing awfully well this season, sitting 6th in the table after being second last season. The contract termination follows a lot of speculation and rumours, with denials from the club until it was confirmed later today.

Heard about this earlier, apparently Henderson musing out loud about signings had the board in a lather. Prolly thought he should have been getting more out of his squad as it stands.
