Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

is an infected reg key dangerous by itself or would it need to be an exe? Could a reg key be left over fom when a trojan was blocked?

    Maybe and yes. :)

An infected key could be something stand alone like it decreases the security settings or turns off something like the firewall, or adds an exception you don't know about. Or it could be running an EXE or inserting something into startup or the various BHOs or document handlers. A google on the key would give you some idea of what exactly it is doing.

It could possibly be left over from a cleaned up trojan if the trojan was just deleted in safe mode rather than using a remover or malware tool to remove it completely.

There is a malware forum and a security forum on boards where you could get better info.

Install update and run a malwarebytes scan http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html?part=dl-10804572&subj=dl&tag=button
