    Hi guys,

Since the last purchase I got off you guys is going so well I decided I might as well see what you've got for this one.

I'm currently looking for a new TV for a conservatory. I'm looking for something about the 37" mark (if it's a little smaller it'd wouldn't be a big issue).

As it's in the conservatory I'll be something that's very good in sunlight. It's also going to be wall mounted.

The goodies on this one aren't overly important although the more the better, as always!

So you've got a pretty clean slate guys - what would you recommend?

    Hi Shane732

Thanks for contacting us with your search for another TV
I have few options for your consideration.

I'll start with the 5 SERIES range

have a look at the 37PFL5405H
    http://www.philipsshop.ie/Spec%20Sheets/37pfl5405h_05_pss_eng.pdf

This is a nicely spec'd TV with
    100Hz refresh rate
    2ms response time
Pixel Plus HD processor and HD Natural Motion
3x HDMI, 1x SCART, VGA, USB & Component inputs.
    MPEG 4 Digital decoder

Run your eye over the link for full specs.

I have one remaining on display that can be yours for €539.99 (down from €599.99) You'll get the full 2 year warranty as well.

We also carry the 32PFL5405H which has the same spec but is just a little smaller
    Spec here for dimensions etc.
    http://www.philipsshop.ie/Spec%20Sheets/37pfl5405h_05_pss_eng.pdf
    This TV sells for €448.99

If you fancy a LED TV you could check out our 32PFL5605H
The general feature set is pretty similar to the 5405 Range but the Contrast ratio is hugely improved (500000:1 compared to 100000:1) and would be a boon in a bright conservatory
    Check it out here
    http://www.philipsshop.ie/Spec%20Sheets/37pfl5405h_05_pss_eng.pdf

    This TV retails for €499.99

Moving further up the food chain brings you into the 7 SERIES range

This range of TV's represent a great Price/Performance ratio.
They have an excellent feature set and more importantly produce an excellent image - as yopu'll see if you call on into us.
They are LED Edge Lit LCD TV's
    100Hz Clear LCD Refresh Rate
    2ms response Time
    Pixel Precise HD image processor
Net TV functions (wired but there is a wireless dongle available for €49.99)(
    Ambilight
    MPEG 4 Digital decoder
Plenty of connections and very thin to boot

Have a look here for the spec on the 32PFL7605H
    http://www.philipsshop.ie/Spec%20Sheets/32pfl7605h_05_pss_eng.pdf

    and here for the 37PFL7605H
    http://www.philipsshop.ie/Spec%20Sheets/32pfl7605h_05_pss_eng.pdf

Price wise the 32PFL7605H sells for €699.99
    The 37PFL7605H sells for
    €849.99

All these TV's mentioned have a matt finish to the screens so should do well in a bright conservatory - we are in a brightly lit shop with HUGE windows so call on in and check 'em all out in the flesh.

I'll advise against considering the next range, the 8 series - whilst excellent TV's they have a perspex sheet over the actual screen and are more prone to reflections (but great if you have little curious kids as they cant touch the actual screen itself!)

Please feel free to call into us and check out our various ranges.

If one of the above takes your interest let me know as I'll sharpen up the price for you and do you a better deal than listed above.

    Cheers
    Ash

Cheers for the replies guys -

So between the 32PFL5605H and the LG 37LD490 - ignoring the obvious size difference.

If size didn't matter which would you go for? I know I'm asking you to compare a non LED with a LED.

Just one other thing - pixmania are currently doing the 32PFL5605H for €489.

I assume you guys can beat this price by a country mile? :D:p

John - I'm very interested in the ones you've mentioned. I'll do my research on them and get back to you.

Guys just one other thing here - the key is that we can watch it properly in the conservatory.

We have a CRT Flatscreen TV on there at the moment but it's basically not watchable out there during the day due to the sunlight.

Will the LED make much of a difference?

    Hi Shane

I have the 32PFL5605H in our sunniest window and you can see it grand at the moment.

The LED backlighting certainly doesnt hurt - infact as it allows for a far wider Contrast range in the image it can only help.

CRT TV's having glass tubes were alway prone to reflect whatever is around 'em. The 32PFL5605H has a matt finish to the screen so should be a good deal less reflective.

This TV also has a Light Sensor built in so it can dynamically adjust the different image parameters to maintain an optimal image in brightly lit rooms.

I can beat that price no worries - pm on the way:)

As I mentioned I have it in the window so call in and have a looksee.
