Can anyone recommend a good potato fertilizer?
I grow them in bags and the yield is always small

    Could you use tomorite?

Whens best to do it? before the flowers come?

    thanks!

Any balanced fertilizer would do... farmers use 10-10-20 (NP&K)
It would be best to feed little and often starting early as possible... Potatoes are an ongoing store of food happening all the time the plant grows..

The 10-10-20 would be more applied as a base dressing, rotovated in before planting the spuds. You can apply more if you want in between the drills if you have them in drills by using an empty watering can and filling with the fertilizer granules and removing the watering can head. Just walk at a steady pace.

What I usually favour is a folier feed, I use a concentrated seaweed extract foliar feed that I spray on in the early morning on a dry day.
