Long would get better wages at Leicester than he would at the majority of Premier League clubs looking at him.

    Yep! Same with West Ham.

Leicester are the next Portsmouth IMO. If they get promoted the owners will sell them off to someone dodgy at a profit, the new owners won't be able to sustain the spending on wages etc and it'll all go down the pan. Shame if it happens as I like Leicester.

Hope he doesn't go to Leicester, at this stage he needs to be playing in Premier League.
I see Everton as ideal for him, they always seem to be struggling for strikers apart from that have a decent side. Long would be a great buy for them.

Joining West Brom today according to the star. Will be great to see what he can do in the premier league.

7 million euro mentioned by RTE (at what point did they start quoting British transfers in
    "funny money"?)

Be interesting to see how him and Odemwingie fit into a team together. WBA is a good move for him, he should not be involved in a relegation battle.

Why wouldnt they quote the currency we use?

It confuses me! I end up having to do maths to decide if the price is too low, high or just about right. ;)

WBA a cracking move for Long, hopefully it will go through.

Because they're paying in Sterling i'd guess. The press have historically used Sterling in their articles. I think it's easier to get your head around since most of the EPL footage you'll be watching is British! (In fact, all?)

How much do you reckon he'll get a week with West Brom?

I always thought the Irish media (not including the tabloids but especially RTE) made the effort to portray the price in euros.

I hope this actually happens for the lad.

£30,000 a week at the very most, I reckon.

I read £25,000 somewhere earlier. I'd have liked him to go somewhere a bit more prestigious, personally.

Well he'll be playing in the premiership, getting games week in, week out, and playing against the very same defenders that the "prestigious" teams are playing against. So any premiership team is grand, as far as I'm concerned. Although in saying that, I wouldnt want him getting relegated again.

Actually could work as very good move.
Roy Rodgson could help him along a lot.

oh BTW the baggies are also looking for a first team kit manager.
Just in case anyone is interested.

I am not allowed discuss …

Just chuffed it (looks like) he is getting a move as well.

One thing I find odd about the reports today is how they keep mentioning him being young. The lad's nearly 25. Not exactly youthful in footballing terms.

Great move, for Long & WBA. Just happy he made it to Premier League.

Reckon him & Odemwingie will be a good front 2, might be worth a look as ff bargains.

I can't see West Brom getting relegated under Roy. Just look at the situation he pulled them away from last season. They were comfortable mid table finishers.
