Pigsback have just mentioned our Twitter page on their twitter and we've been getting lots of followers. I've got our Facebook page linked too so hopefully it will attract a bit of attention to that too :)

there is free software out there called bullzip pdf printer.
it basically will save your printing files as a pdf so you can print them again and again. handy cos there always seems to be a page or 2 blank with some pigsback stuff.

I do it with all my coupons then save them to my pc connected to my printer and voila.

So someone just visited our page and took most of the coupons off us word for word? That's a little unfair.

    *** Extreme Couponing ***

Sometimes it can pay to stash your coupons and wait for a BOGOF, "3 for 2" offer or other promo (like the Tesco Voucher Exchange) on the item. Then you can get the mutibuy/BOGOF offer and money off with the coupon. Even though almost every coupon says "not valid with any other offer or promotion" they usually just scan anyway. Just watch the valid until date on the coupon though.

I remember last summer pigsback had a Ben & Jerry's coupon which was €1.50 off a tub. At the same time Dunnes had a half price promo on it where it was €2.60 a tub. Stocked up then :)

    Yeah thats a good example.

Another tip is if you buy on a "3 for 2" offer you can use 3 money off coupons, 1 for each item. This works because you're actually buying all 3 items, but the store is refunding you the 3rd one. This also applies on a multibuy offer where you're getting an item free. You should still be able to use a money off coupon on the free item.

I had some €2 off a 1 litre tub of HB ice-cream last year.
Stocked up when Tesco had them on special for €1.99;)

Saved €11.70 using the Pigsback and BigAls vouchers. Most of the stuff was on offer as well but was still able to use the coupons.

    Thank you for "inspiration".
I dont have new coupons' "alerts" for now but tomorrow should be my first "couponing" experiment here in Ireland...let's see :)

This is a bit off topic but I thought Id add it anyway. I've been reading this guy's blog where he gets the most amazing couponing on for great deals http://www.pennyexperiment.com/ It's US based so unfortunately we can't really follow any of his tips but it still makes a great read!

Back on topic, the latest pigsback coupons have €1 off Johnson's Baby Bubblebath and this product is also 33% off at Tesco at the minute, so you should be able to get 500ml bottles for €1.66.

There's also a coupon for 50cent off Country Crest products, and Tesco have Country Crest 2.5kg Karlena potatoes at half price, so you could get these for €1.29 with the coupon.

The johnsons is half price in supervalu so an even better deal!

  • Registered Users Posts: 273 ✭✭meg3178

I decided to try a couponing experiment shop in tesco yesterday and for a first try was shocked at what I saved.
I used the pigsback, big al's and irish foods coupons. I got country crest baby potatoes with the 50c coupon for 39c!
In all, the bill was 118euro and after using the coupons it was 69euros! Some of the coupons didn't scan, but when the guy typed in the barcode number, they worked, so don't let it put you off....nearly 50e in your pocket is great in these times.

Ok I've stickied it, I'll check with the other mods to make sure they don't mind.

[Edit] Sorry I've had to unstick it as there's a number of issues with stickies and we were asked to keep them to a minimum.

Thank you anyway, Mod. Maybe in future, for now let's try to keep this up.

A little coupon for Brennan's from their site, found the page after voting for their competition about renewing a children playground:

Are coupons ever done for own-brand stuff?

I've often found that even with the Pigsback coupon, the own-brand is significantly cheaper than it's branded equivalent?

Not usually due to the already cheap price, keep an eye on the brand's facebook page for coupons if they ever come :)

Let's say that if you team the coupons with in store offers usually u can beat the ownbrand and then it makes senso to use the coupons. I, personally, aim to a 50% less than the original price.

That Killeen coupon is very generous. If anyone sees Killeen on offer over the next few months, post it up.

There's a section on their website where they list whatever deals the supermarkets are doing. There's a few products on offer in Superquinn at the moment.

Totally agree with earlier posts on combining deals to make the best savings.
At the weekend I bought two packs of Big Als burgers, priced at €3.19 each the cost comes to €6.38.
    1. They were on offer at 2 for €5 so down to €5 straight away
    2. I used two €1 off vouchers per earlier coupon post on this thread to bring the cost down to €3
    3. I then used the current Tesco 'exchange clubcard vouchers' for double value which effectively means I got them for half price at €1.50

So full cost of €6.38 down to net cost of €1.50, 76% off;)

My stuff for sale on Adverts inc. EDDI, hot water cylinder, roof rails...

First experiment ever for me, in SuperValu this afternoon and I saved a good 75% on ketchup, mayo, liners, and bath/body wash. I am soooo pushed to try more :D

Until next saturday you can use Hellmanns mayo range coupons, Heinz Ketchup coupons, Carefree Coupons and Johnsons Baby coupons in Supervalu as these products are already on offer there and it is convenient.
