Larry Murphy is back?

There was a pilot project looking at tagging sex offenders abandoned years ago after much money was spent (familiar story I know). But all is not lost as Alan Shatter has made it one of his priorities. He also talked about introducing an Irish version of 'Sarah's Law'.
The former I'd be totally in favour of, not so much the latter as it leads to incidents like that already mentioned in the thread. And with most people in the NIMBY camp, WTF would these people go?

I'm going to grab a shotgun and patrol the street and if I see anyone that so much as looks like Larry Murphy they're getting a shell in the face, IN THE FACE!

We have a lot of ghost estates (hundreds apparently) in the country.
Fill one of them up with the dregs and wall them in!
(Yes, I know... unrealistic and wishful thinking)

    No, you won't.
You know it, and we know you know it.
    Your better than that.

The Spanish police papered the areas where Murphy was staying, warning the residents that he was in the area. They are keeping an eye on him as best they can but because of his 'rights' (yes, its sickening), they can only do so much.

I'd be ashamed too if he did similar (or worse) over there.
One small grace though is that if he did, the Spanish police might come down harder on him unlike the courts that consistently are a joke here.

Spanish laws regarding rape and murder are actually laxer than Ireland would you belive. The Irish judicial system has its problems but Spain is veering far too much down the road to the Scandinavian route (without its positive parts) in my opinion.

Maybe so. The street level Spanish police at times however its been noted don't treat the like of Murphy too gently when they do catch his ilk. They have no time for that type. Here we say we are cracking down harder - but instead do the exact opposite and pussy-foot around them in contradiction to what we say the law should be doing in a lot of cases.

If I ever see him, Im gonna take a quick look around and if I see nobody, Im gonna hit him the hardest punch I got.

BTW I thinks its pathetic we expect him to go abroad, After all he is our own problem, Not the problem of another E.U. country, At least if he is here, We can keep an eye on him, There is nothing to stop him blending in in a large E.U. city/country and continuing his depraved actions and shaming us in the process.

How did he get back into the country if he lost his passport?

Ffs, the Herald is a rag.

Wouldn't wipe me swiss with it.

Murphy should be dealt with here.

Imagine the Herald if he hairy aped some Irish young wan in Lanzorote or some other kip that Irish proles go to for a week of Sky Sports, English breakfasts and warm Guinnness.

Why couldn't he get a passport from the Irish embassy in Madrid? There's no need for him to head to Dublin for one, plus as Frada said - how did he travel over? Unless he drove and came in on the ferry.

Probably issued an emergency one when he reported losing the main one.
Standard practice in all embassies abroad. No idea why he couldn't get a full one in Madrid.

I dunno, I'm in Spain for a while now, and of what I've seen of the Spanish police, they can be pretty brutal. When they crack down, they really crack down.

He's not talking about police brutality though.

Thats what I've seen and heard too from others. There's no messing around with them.

It's not at all like the Guards here though. The Guardia Civil are not to be messed with. If Larry Murphy was to commit a crime in here Spain, I'm pretty sure the police would be pretty tough. They're quite old-school, and I've heard people here describing them as quite Franco-esque. I saw them cracking down on protesters in Barcelona, and I know that's not quite the same as tracking a killer or a rapist, but I can't imagine that they're much different when it comes to that.

Huge rumours locally that he's in Mullingar, rumours stating exactly what estate he's in, and apparantly he was seen in the post office collecting his social welfare.

This can only turn nasty, with stating what estate he's in, there's going to be a mob mentality jumping on every poor f*cker that looks like him.

Look at all the women ran out of towns in England when people were convinced they were Maxine Carr.
    i
Mob mentality is not the way to go people - innocent people will get attacked. Let him go about what he's doing, I'd hardly think they'll have him staying in Ireland for long anyway. He's too high profile.

It would probably have been sent to his home address and he wouldn't want people knowing that.

After reading the article in the Herald, it would appear to me that he is testing the waters to see if the reaction to him returning might have died down a bit...

I'm amazed he actually came back, but he better stay clear of Mayo though. The Gardai over there will probably rape him.

Why do we put so much emphasis on the criminal's rights here in Ireland?! If you commit such a horrendous crime, you should have to give up all but the most basic human rights. That poor woman must have gone through the worst ordeal, yet we prioritise his right to freedom over hers?!

He refused counselling and never showed remorse - he's likely to re-offend and he should be locked up because he's a danger to everyone else. Surely the right of everyone to safety is greater than his to freedom?

    2) Do more research in making the ginger gene extinct. It is obvious that the ginger would never get any hole by conventional means.

Er... what? Are you actually suggesting that people with ginger hair are more likely to become rapists? And from the few pics I've seen, Larry Murphy has brown hair anyway - what the hell are you talking about?!

We could use his energy to produce electricity. Strapping a couple of dynamos to his ball sack then tossing into the nearest brothel could power Dublin for a week.

No, but an attack like that can completely change/ruin a person's life. Being snatched off the street - can you not see how that may make someone afraid of leaving the house? If it was you, would you want to go out, knowing you might bump into him?!

And I was also talking about potential future victims - letting him wander around puts others at risk.

The State should have been responsible and set him up with a nice comfortable flat in downtown Ciudad Juárez, Mexico.

Can someone clear something up for me?

Did the FBI say that he was responsible for the disappearance of all those other poor women but he couldn't be tried under their findings in Irish law or is that just bar stool wisdom someone lead me to believe?

Probably because it's the hearld and becuae Sinead Ryan didn't do her research - she just threw together whatever emotice crap she could on the spur of the moment because her eidtor told her to. If she met him on the street and he asked for a cigarette she'd probably give him one (no pun intended) not because of her apathy but because she probably wouldn't even recognise him

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

I just let that bitch @Sinead_ryan know what I think of her 'journalism'.

As an aspiring journalist this kind of crap sickens me. Sensationalist bullblop, of no use to anyone. It's also very irresponsible to publish things like this. She KNOWS men who look like him will know be subjected to further possible attacks as happened last time.

She also knows the Helen Lovejoy types out there are going to simultaneously **** a brick when they read this - all over nothing. I hope she's handed a p45 very soon. But, knowing the Herald and indeed the standard of Irish newspapers, she'll probably get a raise.

We should turn Larry Murphy into a horror villan. One Two Larrys Coming In You. Three Four Your Ass Will Be Sore, Five Six add Aids To The Mix. Seven Eight He's full of hate, Nine Ten he also raped some men.
